Idea/Project Development:
Many of the innovative ideas that benefit the bleeding disorder community are born at the grassroots level and come from community members themselves. Hemophilia Innovation works with members of the bleeding disorder community to develop their ideas for programs and projects including; art, music, literature, media, as well as advocacy, fundraising, education, inter-community communication and networking. Community members looking for information or to find partners for their ideas may rely on Hemophilia Innovation to point them in the direction of people, organizations, institutions, and industry that can provide them with the information or connection they seek.

Summer Camp Experience:
High school-age teens with bleeding disorders represent a largely under-served population who face significant struggles as they cope with the challenges of life and managing chronic illness. Hemophilia Innovation plans to build on the proven success of the bleeding disorder summer camp model by operating an extended summer camp for teens from all over the country. The camp’s focus will be on transition issues, personal leadership and creating a sense of community while providing a channel for expression through creativity. The camp will also feature a scholar-in-residence program, an interactive experience between teens and the leading thinkers and activists of the bleeding disorder community. Above all, the camp will be fun, recreational, and help to create friendships that will last a lifetime.

Forward progression happens when rational discussion prevails. Hemophilia innovation will publish a bimonthly collection of thought provoking Columns, Letters, Opinions, and Teasers. Hemophilia Innovation will maintain an easy to use and very current product and treatment resource bank. This internet based tool can search, list, link, or describe products and treatments, as well as provide information and location of treaters providing specialized care (e.g. radiosynovectomy, liver transplantation, high-titer inhibitors).

Examples of these programs include; DNA carrier testing, outreach to distant or other underserved populations, patient compliance/education, or transition issues to name a few. This service will also include budgeting and revenue development for the program.

Resource Development:
Diverse revenue streams are vital to maintain a healthy institution. Hemophilia Innovation will offer assistance in developing strategic plans, tools, and ideas to meet the funding objectives of institutions, like Hemophilia Treatment Centers. As non-profit organizations, institutions are eligible to receive fundraising donations, hold capital campaigns, special events, or conduct gift-giving solicitations under the guidelines of their parent hospital. Hemophilia Innovation can do this work allowing the institution’s staff to focus on patient care.
